Unexpected Calibrations is a Parisian band that was created in 2020 by American-Italian composer Lena HEMPEL and French singer and frontman Xavier SAMSON.
Strongly influenced by early Opeth, the band composes progressive songs with soft and extreme parts that contrast with each other. The band's other influences include Gojira, Tesseract, Porcupine Tree and Jinjer.
Their music deals with subjects such as anxiety, duality, finding one's place.
